A leading national luxury home builder turned to UCD when its Northern California division needed a new cabinet manufacturing partner. UCD was selected to take over production of custom kitchen cabinetry for multiple new home communities throughout the greater Sacramento area. The program required a partner capable of delivering consistent quality, reliable service, and support for demanding residential construction schedules

The Scope

UCD provided custom kitchen cabinetry for multiple residential developments, each with unique configurations, design requirements, and high-end finishes. The program required flexibility to support changing construction schedules while maintaining consistent craftsmanship across communities. A seamless transition from the previous supplier was also critical to keeping active projects moving

The Challenge

The incumbent cabinet provider had struggled with delays, production challenges, and finish inconsistencies. UCD needed to step into active projects with minimal disruption while meeting the quality and delivery standards expected by a luxury home builder. Supporting the growing program also required additional production capacity and stronger finishing capabilities.

The Solution

UCD established a dedicated account management team to coordinate engineering, production, finishing, and delivery. We also invested in additional CNC technology, expanded and reconfigured our finishing department, and added robotic finishing equipment to improve consistency, precision, and efficiency. These investments enabled UCD to support multiple communities while maintaining production schedules and the level of craftsmanship required for the luxury residential market.
